2018 Southern Region AAPSE Workshop

Dear AAPSE Members & Other Interested Parties,
The American Association of Pesticide Safety Educators (AAPSE) Southern Region invites you to join us at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 401 West Summit Hill Drive, Knoxville, Tennessee, 37902 on June 6, 2018 from 8:00am and is scheduled to conclude at 5:30pm the following day (June 7th).

The room rate is $129.00 per night, and the cut-off date for reservations is May 6, 2018. We have limited number of rooms in the AAPSE room block so early reservations are recommended.

Hotel information and reservations can be made by calling (865) 522-2600 and mention Group Code (EPP).

The website for the hotel is located here Crowne Plaza however rates may be higher than the conference rates so consider calling for your reservations. 

Transportation
For attendees traveling by air, your destination is Knoxville's McGhee Tyson airport (TYS). It is approximately 13 miles to downtown Knoxville, with a drive time of 30 minutes. For those electing to rent a car, here are the directions from the airport to Crowne Plaza:

From the Airport, head north on US-129/TN115 (Alcoa Hwy.), travel 11.29 miles, then take I-40 East ramp towards I-275N/Ashville Lexington (travel 0.11 miles) and keep rigth to take the ramp toward TN-62/17th Street/Western Ave., stay straight go onto Dale Ave., turn right onto Western Ave./TN62,(travel 0.47miles), this will turn into W. Summit Hill Drive, U-turn in front of Hotel (401 W. Summit Hill Drive).

A tour of Knoxville's zoo is planned during our conference to see what methods of pest control have been put in place to help reduce the spread of common pests.

If you plan to bring a guest and they would like to attend any of the events, please include their information when registering!!!

Individuals who arrive at the airport between 8:00am and 4:30pm on June 5th and would like a ride to the hotel, we are planning to have a van available, however you will need to contact the PSEP Office asap with your name, flight number, cell phone number, and time of expected arrival, so we may make arrangements for you to ride to the hotel.
